What Coils Do I Use for my Smoke Vape Device?

It’s important that you get the right coil for your Smok device, as they are not all universal meaning there isn’t a one coil fits all unfortunately.

Smok Nord 4 – This uses Smok RPM2 coils and only fits the RPM2 pods.

Smok Nord 5 – This uses Smok RPM3 Coils and only fits the RPM3 pods.

What Ohms Are the Coils?

Smok produces coils with varying ohm resistances to cater for all vaping style which is one of the reasons why they are one of leading manufacturers of vaping devices on the market today.

We stock a great variety of these coils and they are:

RPM2 – 0.3 / 0.4 / 0.6 / 1.0 / 1.2ohms

RPM3 – 0.15 / 0.23ohms

What Materials Are Used in Smok Coils?

Smok coils utilise mesh design, meaning this increases the surface area of the cotton to allow for a higher wattage to be used, without damaging the cotton.

Ultimately, this results in more flavour from your vape juice and more vape cloud production as well.

What E Liquid Is Best for My Smok Coil?

We would recommend pairing any coil that is 0.6ohm or higher with nicotine salt vape juice as this will give supreme flavour, as well as a smooth and punchy nicotine hit if your device is set to the correct wattage.

The RPM3 coils are designed to use high vg vape juice and run at a higher wattage. It would not be recommended using nicotine salts with these coils.

Do I Need To Prime my Coil?

We always recommend priming your Smok coil whenever you change it. This is done by inserting your new coil into your pod, filling it up with vape juice and then leaving it so that the vape juice can properly absorb into the cotton of your coil.

Failure to do this may result in your cotton being dry, and when you fire the power button, you may burn the cotton of the coil and unfortunately there is no recovering a burnt coil once it’s happened.

How Long Do Smok Coils Last For?

Smok coils are quite robust and normally have a good life span of around 7-10 days, with reports of it being longer.

Of course, there’s always the chance of this being less than 7 days which ultimately relies on the amount you use your vape as well as what vape juice you use.

If you’re a frequent vaper, the coil will be working more and therefore may burn out quicker. And if you use a sweet vape juice for example, this can also cause the cotton to burn away quicker and the life of your coil becoming shorter.
