Going on holiday is an exciting time, but knowing what you can and can’t take with you can be extremely stressful, especially if you are an avid vaper. This blog aims to provide you with some information about which airports you can vape in so that you can avoid the last-minute panic as you arrive with or without your vape in tow. If you are unsure, or your airport of choice isn’t listed here, be sure to consult the airline or airport’s personal guidelines to avoid disappointment.

Read on to shed some light on whether or not you can vape in some of Europe’s busiest airports.

Gatwick Airport

Gatwick Airport is the ninth busiest airport in Europe and the second busiest airport in the UK. 

Can you vape in Gatwick Airport?

No, you cannot vape inside of Gatwick Airport. E-Cigarettes are banned inside of the North and South Terminals. However, there are designated areas outside of both of the terminals so that you can enjoy vaping before you come inside and prepare for the holiday.

Madrid Airport

Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suárez Airport is the main international airport for Madrid, Spain. 

Can you vape inside Madrid-Barajas Airport?

You are only permitted to use your vaping device or smoke before you pass through security.

Manchester Airport

Manchester Airport is the third busiest airport in the UK.

Can you vape inside Manchester Airport?

No, the use of e-cigarettes is not allowed inside of the terminal buildings. However, outside of  Terminal 1 and 2 there are designated airside smoking eras.

Frankfurt Airport

Frankfurt Airport is one of the busiest in Germany.

Can you vape inside Frankfurt Airport?

Yes, you can actually vape inside of Frankfurt Airport however it must be in the designated lounges.

J F. Kennedy International (JFK) Airport

Can you vape inside JFK Airport?

No, the use of e-cigarettes is prohibited inside of the JFK airport. There are however designated areas outside of the terminals where both the use of e-cigarettes and the lighting of cigarettes is allowed.

Geneva Airport 

Designated in the second-most populous city in Switzerland, Geneva Airport is the second busiest airport in the country.

Can you vape inside Geneva Airport?

You are able to carry your e-cigarette with you in your hand luggage but are not permitted to smoke it within the confines of the airport or on the plane itself.

Every airport has different rules and regulations so it is important to check and confer with those airports’ specific guidelines. While many won’t actually let you vape or smoke in the terminal, some airports have introduced filtered smoking areas such as Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport in Mississippi.
