The reason for this ban is to prevent underage users from purchasing the brightly coloured single-use vape devices, as well as to prevent further harm to the environment that disposables were causing. Despite being made from plastic, they are not recyclable and instead have to be disposed of in general waste. Before the ban, millions upon millions were being dumped in landfills across the UK every single week.
