What E-Liquid Tastes Like Disposables?

Disposable vapes maintained popularity, all the way up until their ban in June 2025. Now, the ban is in full swing, with disposables nowhere to be found, and personal supplies dwindling, if not exhausted.

In this blog, we explore how you can continue to vape after disposable vapes are banned, as we look at what e-liquid tastes like disposables as well as what vape kits are a good alternative to disposable vapes so you can continue vaping long after the disposable vape ban...and save money in the process!

What E-Liquid is in Disposable Vapes?

Disposable vapes were sold prefilled with e-liquid, with the standard, such as an Elf Bar or Lost Mary, having 2ml of e-liquid housed inside them. The subsequently released big puff disposables often came with several pods and a much larger battery in the device to achieve their promised high puff count.

The more modern alternative includes devices such as the Vaporesso DOJO Blast, which houses a 2ml pod and 8ml refill that automatically feeds e-liquid to your pod as you vape. It also has a rechargeable battery, adhering to UK laws following the disposable vape ban.

The e-liquid commonly used in disposable vape devices is nicotine salt vape juice. It's most often sold in 20mg nicotine strengths; however, some brands of disposable vape will offer lower nicotine strengths like 10mg, as well as a 0mg/nicotine-free option.

Nearly all disposable vapes are made in China, and this includes the e-liquid that is used inside the disposable vapes. Regulations on distributing and creating e-liquid in China are not as strict as here in the UK, so it's slightly concerning to consider what exactly goes into these e-liquids to make them so sweet and flavoursome, which is what people continue to come back for.

When are Disposable Vapes Being Banned?

Disposable vapes have been banned in the UK since June 1st 2025.

Intentions to ban the single-use vape devices first came about in 2024, when former Prime Minister of the UK, Rishi Sunak, announced the "Stopping The Start" campaign. Within this campaign was the intention to ban disposable vapes from sale in the UK. Following an election in the UK resulting in a change from a Conservative to Labour-lead government, there was uncertainty whether or not these plans would be carried over.

At the start of 2025, newly appointed UK PM Keir Starmer announced the confirmed date of June 1st 2025, from this point onwards, all disposable vapes would be banned from sale in the UK. The reason for this ban is to prevent underage users from purchasing the brightly coloured single-use vape devices, as well as to prevent further harm to the environment that disposables were causing. Despite being made from plastic, they are not recyclable and instead have to be disposed of in general waste. Before the ban, millions upon millions were being dumped in landfills across the UK every single week.

You may be reading this as a disposable vape user, and might be concerned about the closest alternative once your supply runs dry. In this instance, we will explain what's available to you right now, and why it's worth considering moving to something like a refillable vape kit and disposable vape flavour e-liquids.

What E-Liquid Tastes Like Disposable Vapes?

As we mentioned above, the e-liquid used in disposable vapes is nicotine salt vape juice. As nic salts have double-concentrated flavours, the range of flavours is vast and consistently growing.

After the ban, a lot of popular disposable vape brands have begun offering the same flavours as their disposable vapes in 10ml bottles to be used with a refillable vape kit. We've highlighted a few of the leading brands which we stock here at LiQuid:

What Vape Kit is Like a Disposable Vape?

Of course, it goes without saying that if you get a bottle of disposable vape flavour e-liquid...you're going to need a vape kit to use it with!

Disposable vapes are powered by a small battery, which is usually approximately 280mAh, meaning that the wattage output of the device will be relatively low, around 8-10 watts. If you're looking for a vape kit to replicate the same vaping experience, you won't need to go all out and buy an expensive vape kit, especially if it's the first refillable vape kit that you would have used.

We'd recommend a pod vape kit as the best vape kit alternative to disposable vapes. These are simple and easy to use and a lot of the pod vape kits use mesh coils which are optimised for use with nicotine salt e-liquid to boost the flavour of the e-liquid used.

We've got a vast selection of pod vape kits which are the perfect alternative for disposable vapes as well as a good selection of pen vape kits, both of which offer a simplistic and extremely user friendly vape experience. We've picked out a few below but be sure to check out the full range of refillable vape kits which we have on offer here at LiQuid!
