Over the past year and a half, Elf Bar products have been weaving the fine line between rechargeable and disposable vaping methods. Devices such as the Elfa Pro are a recent example of this. That being said, the ELFX Pro now carries the torch as their first fully open system, rechargeable vape pod kit. This demonstrates the brand's determination to remain relevant following the UK disposable vape ban now in effect (having started on June 1st).

About the Elf Bar ELFX Pro Pod Vape Kit
Upon immediate inspection, it’s clear that Elf Bar has aimed to create a lasting product with a splash of style. The ELFX Pro arrives wrapped in vegan leather, with various colour options available, unlike prior Elf Bar releases, which often feature a single colour and are clearly built to look disposable.
Immediately a jump from the one-dimensional interface that disposable vapes offer, the ELFX Pro is very customisable. A built-in screen further enhances the user experience, with adjustable power options up to 45W, dual modes and airflow control options offering MTL or DTL vaping easily changeable by the choice of its user. This naturally keeps it true to its prior disposable products, enabling the use of nic salts for a more flavourful experience.
Another transferable feature is that the ELFX Pro is inhalable-activated and able to outlast disposable devices, with a 1,200mAh battery fitted inside. For charging, a USB-C port can be found on the side of the device, once again similar to more recent disposables.
Why Choose Elf Bar?
Following the aforementioned ban, companies such as Elf Bar have been pushed to redirect their research and development towards reusable, refillable vape kits. These devices to long-established names like VooPoo and Vaporesso, to stay competitive and maintain their share of the market.
Elf Bar’s first steps in this transition came in the form of pre-filled pod devices like the ELFA range, which acted as a middle ground between their former 600-puff disposable vapes and what we now see with the ELFX Pro. Although we approached this device with some hesitation, given that Elf Bar is new to the refillable range, we are genuinely impressed by what the ELFX Pro offers for its £20.99 price point. It includes the same key features found in modern pod systems from leading competitors, whilst offering the classic experience offered by prior Elf Bar disposables. This, paired with reliable build quality and an intuitive, flexible interface makes the ELFX Pro suitable for both beginners and experienced vapers and is a testament to Elf Bar's dedication to maintaining the standard they previously built.

Optimised for Nic Salts
We found the ELFX Pro pairs best with nic salts by far. Provided their history in disposables and using nic salts, Elf Bar has ensured that the ELFX Pro works perfectly with nic salt e-liquids like those in our Bar Salts collection. That being said, the ELFX Pro supports both MTL and RDTL vaping styles, making it suitable for use with nic salt and freebase e-liquids. While it’s primarily designed for 50/50 blends, you can also use high-VG e-liquids if needed, thanks to its impressive 45-watt max output and sub-ohm coil options.
Dual-Mesh Coils
The Elf Bar ELFX Pro is equipped with dual-mesh coils, providing optimal heating of e-liquid and nic salts. Dual-mesh coils enable maximum flavour and can last longer than regular coils. New QUAQ tech developed by Elf Bar notably enhances this, giving nic salts a huge flavour boost, while lasting longer than regular pods. This applies to both the 0.6 and 0.8ohm coils that come with the device, both being equipped with dual-mesh flavour-enhancing coils.
Long-Lasting Battery
Made to outlast disposable vapes, the integrated 1,200mAh battery will be sure to last more than long enough when given a full charge. With a single press of the function button on the side of the device, you can easily toggle between an eco mode that prioritises battery life and a turbo mode that boosts flavour, both clearly indicated by vibrant graphics on the display. No matter which mode you choose, holding down the same button opens a more advanced settings menu, where you can adjust the wattage to fine-tune the balance between flavour, vapour production, and battery performance.

To be prepared for when the coil built into your pod burns out, you may want to keep some spare pods handy. Elf Bar offers pods built specifically for the ELFX Pro in packs of 3.

Elf Bar ELFX Pod Cross-Compatibility
The ELFX Pro cartridge has cross-compatibility with all other devices in the ELFX range. This means that if you're using an older ELFX device or using several devices across the ELFX range, all of them will work with the same pods.
Vaping Expert's Experience With ELFX 0.6 and 0.8ohm Pods
0.6ohm ELFX Pod
Of the two pod options, this one was my favourite. It’s ideal for restricted direct-to-lung vaping, with its lower resistance allowing the ELFX Pro to deliver higher power for stronger flavour and larger vapour clouds. This pod gives the closest experience to a disposable vape, making it a great choice for anyone switching over now that single-use vapes are banned in the UK. It also pairs perfectly with the device’s Turbo Mode.
I found that the sweet spot was between 25–35W as pushing it all the way up to 45W was a bit too intense.
0.8ohm ELFX Pod
This pod is better suited to mouth-to-lung (MTL) vaping and performs best at lower wattages, around 10–20W. It works well with any 50/50 e-liquid and delivers a smooth, flavourful MTL experience, though it isn’t quite as bold as the 0.6Ω version. On the plus side, it lasts longer and, when combined with Eco Mode, gives the best pod and battery life, ideal for travelling or all-day use.
I found it performed nicely anywhere from 10–25W, but anything above that felt a little too intense for the coil to handle.

Due to the aforementioned dual-mesh coils utilised by the Elf Bar ELFX, we would certainly recommend using nic salts with this device, ideal for extra flavour enhancement!
