Aspire Loomix: An Honest Vape Kit Review
Since being founded in 2013, Aspire have made a huge difference in the vape market with their range of vape kits, from cheap but reliable beginner kits to higher-budget, powerful kits.
The Loomix meets this range halfway, offering a highly reliable, easy-to-use device with good battery life, alongside various power settings and vaping styles suited to any vaper, all at a mid-range price. Any vapers that want to upgrade their current kit, or newer vapers searching for a strong first kit, should definitely turn their attention towards the Loomix.
In this blog, I'll give my personal experience with the Loomix, including the good and the bad, as well as ultimately whether I believe the kit is worth the money, and right for you.

About Aspire & The Loomix
Aspire is great at finding the line between simplicity and high-tech. Describing the Loomix as providing 'simplicity in every puff', it's clear the device is considerate towards, though not limited to, beginner vapers. Despite this, the inner tech in the device is far from simplistic, with a strong battery life, different power modes and a range of coil compatibility.
At a glance, the device has a simple interface from a design perspective, but the inner workings go much deeper.
Aspire Loomix Features Summarised:
- A large 1,500 mAh battery
- Choice of ECO and MAX modes
- 27W maximum output - allowing strong variability in coil range

How Does It Look & Feel?
There's immediately a lot to be said about Aspire's design choices. Whilst many vape kits feature solid colours, this line of kits differentiates itself with each choice. While the white and black designs appear more leather, the purple and gold and gunmetal designs feel more metallic.
This offers much more personability compared to some other devices, which can certainly be a selling point if you like a fashion statement device.
Otherwise, the device is quite simple to use and appears so. With adjustable airflow on the side and a charging port directly underneath it, the design is easy enough to understand even for beginners.
The device design is comfortable for everyday use. In my time using it I had no trouble with taking it on the go, or using it leisurely throughout my daily routine.
I feel that the button being on the side rather than the front of the device is also a nice touch, being discreetly out of the way and avoiding accidental presses.
Is It Easy To Use?
I found that the Aspire Loomix was quite easy to use from personal experience. I tend to use mostly mid-range devices, and found as a mid-range device it was still quite simplistic.
Auto-inhale and buttonless activation makes the device as simple as possible, meaning you can use it on the fly with no need for adjustments.
The airflow slider is intuitive enough to understand, even on a beginner level. This kit may be a good introduction to airflow for newer vapers.
While not explicitly a kit designed for beginners, the Loomix is, in my experience, accessible enough for all vapers.
The choices of ECO and MAX mode are quite self-explanatory, and while power modes are usually reserved for more advanced kits, most vapers should have no trouble navigating them through a press of the button on the side.

Setting Up: How To Use Loomix Pods
The Loomix comes with a 0.8ohm pod, but has other pod options available depending on your personal preference.
Setting your pods up is quite simple. Pods will clip into the top of the device with ease, with a top fill port equipped for easy filling.
To get started with the Loomix, you'll need to set up a fresh Loomix pod and follow the steps below:
- Remove the pod from your Loomix battery (if pre-installed) and remove any protective film from the contact points.
- Locate the fill-port on top of the device and open it outwards.
- Insert your e-liquid bottle tip into the fill port.
- Gently squeeze the e-liquid to fill the Loomix pod, making sure to not overfill and to seal the port after finishing.
- Place the pod back into your Loomix battery, give around 5 minutes to settle and once done, you're ready to vape.

The Best E-Liquids To Use With The Loomix
Due to a high wattage range and strong line up of pods, the Loomix works to a high standard with any 50/50 e-liquid.
Freebase 50/50 e-liquid works best with:
- 0.8 ohm Loomix Pod
- 1.0 ohm Loomix Pod
50/50 nic salt e-liquid works best with:
- 0.4 ohm Loomix Pod
- 0.6 ohm Loomix Pod
- 0.8 ohm Loomix Pod
High-VG e-liquid is not recommended for use with the Loomix.
As the Loomix conveniently arrives with a 0.8ohm pod, I had the luxury of choice between starting with freebase or nic salt e-liquid. Granted I prefer lower ohm coils with nic salts, I tried out the freebase Butterscotch Caramel e-liquid first. Though 1.0ohms will provide a more traditional vaping experience closer to how cigarettes feel, it felt smooth and flavourful to vape.
Following this I tried the 0.6ohm pod with LiQuid's Fruit Punch nicotine salts. This is closer to what I usually use when not testing, and I can attest to the Loomix's power when used with nic salts. I'd recommend 0.6ohm and 0.4ohm pods with nic salts confidently.
Navigating The Loomix's Features
The small (and otherwise easy to miss) button on the side of the device will scroll between the two power modes. These are ECO and MAX modes.
Below the button is an airflow valve, which is easily adjustable by the user.
Also quite subtly hidden is a minimalist display which can communicate battery life by exact number. This is much preferable to the colour co-ordinated battery scale on many devices, and was convenient for me during my time using it.
Loomix Battery Life & Charging
The Loomix has a 1,500mAh battery, which is around average for a device at this price. Nonetheless, it should last you a full day of use quite easily, even if using the MAX mode.
As mentioned, the battery is handily displayed on the front of the device, which means you'll never be caught off-guard by low-battery warnings.
2A fast charging ensures that you're not waiting around for your Loomix to be ready. Plugging it to charge during your morning ritual should give enough time for you to leave ready for a full day of use.
Do keep in mind that use at higher wattage or lower ohm pods can drain your battery faster, but I would still say from my own experience that 1,500mAh is enough to get by day to day with ease.
Should You Buy The Loomix Kit By Aspire?
At the £17.99 price point, the Aspire Loomix is a great middle-range device, offering strong tech and a simplistic taste of what more advanced kits can offer. This is particularly useful if you're looking for the best kit available, without needing to overly customise your vaping experience.
Similarly, if you're a beginner vaper but want serious quality, the Loomix provides the strongest degree of power behind a simple interface.
A strong flexibility for use with freebase or nic salt e-liquid also opens the device to a wide range of users. Whether you're moving from disposable vapes to refillables, or moving from smoking into vaping, you'll be able to find a close replicant that works with this device.
The convenience of a battery display shouldn't be looked over. Particularly at a mid-range price point, it's especially useful to know your device's exact charge. You don't want to be left craving for nicotine, and with clear communicative features, you can be better prepared as such.
Overall, I have no gripes with the Loomix. It's a solid vape kit at a reasonable price. It also benefits from being accessible to most vapers, being a great kit for anyone from beginner to expert vapers, looking for an easy and simplistic device to do the job well.
