Vape Duty Calculator: Work Out Your New Monthly Spend
We've got plenty of helpful blogs on our site to help you understand how the October 2026 vape tax will impact product prices, but we know many of you will want to work out how much your personal favourites might cost once the duty is enforced.
That's why, in this blog, you can use our handy vape duty calculator to work out your potential vaping budget, factoring in the post-tax price of all your favourites.
Use the tool below to get ahead of the vape tax and work out exactly what your ideal vape basket will cost with the new duties applied, enabling you to make adjustments and give you time to prepare if the increases are a little more than what you'd be comfortable paying each time you order.

How To Work Out Your Vape Budget After The New Tax
The calculation for vape duty e-liquid price increases essentially looks like this:
- Base Price + Duty (22p per ml flat rate) + 20%VAT = E-Liquid Cost Inc. Tax
The vape duty is applied as a flat rate of 22p per ml of e-liquid, regardless of nicotine content. This means larger volume bottles like 100ml shortfills will be hit harder than standard 10ml bottles, and pre-filled pods (typically no larger than 2ml) will see the smallest increase.
While the vape duty will be the same across all brands' e-liquid products according to their volume, bottles of identical size will cost you more or less depending on their initial base price.
We know this all sounds quite complicated, which is why we have built the calculator below to make it easy for you to work out your predicted vape juice costs after the new duty has been applied from the 1st October 2026.
To Work Out Your Monthly Vape Budget After Tax:
- Identify your average monthly vape basket contents (No. of bottles / product types / brands)
- Click on the relevant calculator tab below according to the products you typically buy.
- Add the number of bottles you buy each month to the 'quantity' box of the calculator tab.
- The calculator will combine the base price, duty cost and VAT, then multiply the figure by the number of bottles to give you your monthly total, including the new taxes.
- If you buy a combination of different products each month (eg. 10 bottles of freebase & 5 bottles of nic salts), work out the individual totals using each relevant tab, and then combine the totals yourself to see your predicted overall cost.

Estimate Monthly Vaping Costs
If you are still struggling to work out your monthly total after the new taxes are enforced, here is an example basket, with costings generated using the calculator above:
Example Monthly Basket:
Individual Product Costs Inc Taxes:
- 5 x Bar Salts Inc Tax = £23.20
- 2 x Elf Bar Nic Salts Inc Tax = £12.26
- 3 x Original Freebase Inc Tax = £10.92
Combined Basket Total After Tax:
£23.20 + £12.26 + £10.92
= £46.38
