LiQuid title - Best Vape Kits for High-VG E-Liquids

Best Vape Kits for High-VG E-Liquids

Many vape kits can’t handle high-VG (HVG) e-liquid, so it’s best to use a kit with high wattage and coils designed for high-VG vaping. The reason HVG liquid is more demanding for devices is due to its thick consistency, which requires a higher wattage to heat properly. Read on to understand what vape devices can and cannot work with HVG vape juice, as well as guidance on how to use it in your own device.

Why High-VG E-Liquid Works Best In Sub-Ohm Vape Kits

High-VG e-liquid works best in sub-ohm vape kits due to its thick consistency and thus high heat requirements to vaporise. Sub-ohm resistance vape kits allow greater heat production, which can accommodate the necessary heat level to vaporise high-VG e-liquid. Only sub-ohm kits can accommodate this, but not all sub-ohm kits - only ones with DTL coils.

High-VG e-liquid is only available in lower nicotine concentrations when compared to freebase and nic salt vape juice. Due to the increased VG concentration, there's not as much room to carry nicotine in the PG concentration, limiting it to 3mg-6mg nicotine concentration in a 10ml bottle.

LiQuid also offers HVG shortfill options. These bottles of high-VG e-liquid come in 100ml with no nicotine concentration. Users can add nicotine shots to their shortfill to achieve their desired nicotine concentration.

Why Not All Vape Kits Work With High-VG Vape Juice

High-VG vape juice requires a lot of work from your vape kit to heat efficiently, and many kits simply aren’t designed, nor equipped, to work with it efficiently. Vape kits using high-resistance coils won’t reach the necessary temperature to heat the liquid enough, meaning you’ll simply be straining your device and possibly damaging the coil.

Like other vape liquids, there are kits and coils designed specifically for high-VG vaping. You will want a vape device with high wattage settings if you want to use HVG vape liquid.

True High-VG Coils Vs RDTL Coils: What's The Difference?

True high-VG coils, as the name would imply, are the best option for high-VG e-liquid as they are sub-ohm coils designed to appeal to the vaping needs of HVG users. RDTL coils, despite being sub-ohm coils, are designed to be used with 50-50 vape juice. RDTL coils tend to have smaller wicking ports and work with lower wattage rates, making them less applicable compared to DTL coils designed for a higher wattage output and more emphasis on larger wicking ports.

Sub-Ohm Vape Kit Checklist: What To Look Out For Before You Buy

If you’d like to try vaping high-VG vape juice, you’ll need to make sure your kit and applicably your coils follow certain requirements.

  • Your device will need to be high power, ideally around 80W
  • A low-ohm coil that allows DTL vaping
  • Advanced device features that can be adjusted applicably for HVG vaping

Some devices can go as high as 200W in power output, though these types of kits are mostly reserved for vaping hobbyists and vape trick artists (often in vaping competitions) – the average vaper will not need a kit well above 80W.

Ensure you’re using a low-ohm coil that allows for a DTL vaping style. These coils will have larger wicking ports, allowing more heat to transfer to the e-liquid and thus working better with HVG vape juice, which requires more heat to vaporise. Check that your device has advanced features available. Although many devices can automatically adjust based on the coil applied, it’s best to change these settings yourself so you know your settings are adjusted specifically for high-VG vaping.

The Best Vape Kits For High-VG E-Liquids

We offer several vape kits that can be used with high-VG e-liquids on our online vape store. These options tend to be quite tech-heavy and more applicable for advanced vapers. Below is a range of our devices that are compatible with high-VG e-liquid and have features designed to be used with it:

Conclusion: Make Sure You Buy The Right Sub-Ohm Vape Kit

Vaping terminology can be quite confusing, particularly when ohms and wattage enter the picture. Although RDTL vape coils are great for sub-ohm vaping, they're not immediately applicable with HVG e-liquid, but rather 50-50. The same logic applies to devices. Although there are great advanced vape device options for freebase and nic salt vape juice, they're not immediately applicable to HVG e-liquid.

When choosing a device for HVG e-liquid, aim for a device with a wattage range that reaches or exceeds 80W. Make sure it is compatible with sub-ohm coils, particularly starting from 0.6. HVG e-liquid will not work with any regular device, so do check that your device is equipped to handle it, and that your settings are appropriately tuned.
