How Does It Look & Feel?
The Xros 5 doesn't just boast premium tech, it has a slick, premium look and feel to match.
With plenty of colourways available, from toned-down carbon and black options to funky colours and patterns, you can really accessorise the Xros 5 according to your own personal style.
Made from durable aluminium alloy, the Xros 5 is both durable and lightweight, with just enough weight in your hand to give that premium feel. The build quality is tight, with no rough edges or loose-fitting buttons - no plastic rattles here!
The OLED screen is clear and intuitive, giving you all the info you need to keep an eye on while vaping at a glance. You can even switch the display mode up with a few clicks of the side-mounted function button to find a design that matches your style.
The screen and display are worth additional praise for practicality, as they look the part and function perfectly without being overly flashy.
Some competitors, like the Aspire Pixo, go too far with their displays, adding dynamic graphics and more at the cost of battery life and without adding any additional practical function. The Xros 5, by comparison, balances form and function better than most other kits out there. -
Is It Easy To Use?
The Xros 5 really excels when it comes to functionality, combining advanced features with entry-level accessibility.
You can easily switch between the various menu functions, including theme options, power modes and general settings with a few clicks of the side-mounted function button.
Three quick clicks open the power mode menu, allowing you to easily swap between manual adjustable wattage for fine-tuning, or pre-set ECO mode for battery saving, PWR mode for performance boosting at the expense of battery, or NOR mode for a balance between the two.
The Xros 5 is both button-activated and inhale-activated so you can simply vape the way your prefer. 5 quick clicks turn the device off, preventing accidental firing in a pocket or bag.
Overall, the Xros 5 was super simple to navigate, and didn't take longto get set up according to my personal preferences. As I said earlier, despite being an experienced vaper myself, Vaporesso have made the Xros 5 so easy to navigate that even beginner vapers could quickly learn how to make the most of it, making it a seriously versatile kit.
Setting Up: How To Use Xros Vape Pods
Right out of the box you will receive a 0.6ohm and 0.8ohm refillable Xros vape pod. These pods have built-in coils and feature Vaporesso's iconic patented COREX Mesh Technology.
In a nutshell, COREX mesh can:
- Heat up faster and maintain a more consistent temperature.
- Enhance flavour for a richer, cleaner vape.
- Increase vapour production for MTL and RDTL vaping styles.
- Improve absorption with fluffier cumulus cotton wicks.
- Extend coil lifespan by up to 50%.
- Deliver a smoother draw thanks to more even heating.
This isn't just marketing fluff either, I can honestly say COREX coils deliver some of, if not the best flavour available from a pod vape kit in 2025.
To get started with the Xros 5, you'll need to set up a fresh Xros pod according to the following steps:
- Remove the pod from your Xros 5 battery (if pre-installed) and remove any protective film from the contact points.
- Carefully pull the mouthpiece to one side to unclip it from the top of the pod, exposing the filling valve.
- Pop the top of your e-liquid bottle into the filling valve.
- Gently squeeze the bottle to fill the Xros pod, taking care not to overfill.
- Put the mouthpiece back in place to cover the valve.
- Put the pod back into your battery, allow it to absorb for a minute or two, and away you go.

The Best E-Liquids To Use With The Xros 5
The Xros 5 vape kit has the potential to support almost any e-liquid type you might fancy, but it all depends on the Xros pod coil you use.
Freebase 50/50 e-liquid works best with:- 1.0ohm Xros Pod
- 1.2ohm Xros Pod
50/50 nic salt e-liquid works best with:- 0.6ohm Xros Pod
- 0.8ohm Xros pod
High-VG e-liquid only works with:- 0.4ohm Xros Pod
In my experience testing this device, I found that above all else, the Xros 5 is unbeatable when paired with nic salt e-liquids.
The double-concentrated flavours used in recipes like our Bar Salt range are brought to life by the COREX mesh tech like no other vape kit I've tried.
If you are looking for an amazing alternative to the disposable vaping experience, the Xros 5 is a great option because of how well it works with nic salts. -
Navigating The Xros 5's Menu & Modes
Navigating the Xros 5's menus is really simple; it's all handled by the function button found on the side of the device.
The device manual will explain everything you need to know, but in simple terms this is how to navigate the devices functions:- 1 click fires the device
- 2 clicks open the theme editor
- 3 clicks open the power menu for variable wattage and power modes
- 4 clicks open the settings menu
- 5 clicks powers the device on or off
ECO mode works great for maximising the potential of the 1500mAh battery, and endured even my heavy vaping habits for a full day easily. The only drawback was that the flavour became slightly more muted, but not so much that it wasn't enjoyable.
PWR mode was the real showstopper for me, it ramps up performance deliveirng truly amazing flavour with clarity and depth most vape kits cannot offer. The only drawback was that I found the battery only lasted about half a day in this mode.
NOR mode was my personal favourite because it meets the other two in the middle. It delivered excellent flavour and smooth vapour, and the battery lasted almost a full day thanks to its large capacity, so this became my go-to setting for everyday vaping. -
Xros 5 Battery Life & Charging
Vaporesso have given the Xros 5 one of the biggest batteries, if not the biggest, that we've ever seen in a pod vape kit.
Normally, this means the kit would be heavy or bulky, but they have managed to compact all that battery power into a very lightweight package.
The 1500mAh capacity means the Xros 5 can support most forms of all-day vaping, with the only exception being when using PWR mode at full wattage - although that is to be expected of any vape kit with a performance boosting mode!
One of the best features of this kit is its USB-C 3A rapid charging. I have never known a vape kit go from flat to full in so little time, taking only 25 minutes in my experience.
This means even if you do get caught short, your downtime will be minimal when using the Xros 5.
Should You Buy The Xros 5 Vape Kit By Vaporesso?
In a word -yes! If you are looking for a new vape kit, the Xros 5 is one of the best investments you can make.
