About the Innokin Klypse Pro vape kit

Innokin Klypse Pro summary

Innokin are one of the leading brands for vape kits in 2024 with a long and successful history. They are most well known for producing affordable vape kits that stand the test of time, often taking a less-is-more approach to their designs.

Like most leading vape kit manufacturers, Innokin has developed a range of pod vapes under the Klypse moniker that we have already reviewed: the beginner-friendly original Klypse, the more advanced Klypse Mecha, and now the Klypse Pro. Each have scaling features, with the Klypse representing the most basic and affordable, the Pro being a middle-ground in terms of price and features and the Mecha costing slightly more but featuring the most tech - all these kits utilise the same refillable Klypse pods.

The Klypse Pro does everything you would expect an intermediate pod vape to do. It has refillable vape pods designed for RDTL and MTL vaping, an improved 1000mAh battery vs the standard Klypse's 700mAh, variable airflow and USB-C charging, alongside a PMOLED screen and coloured lights indicating battery charge and variable wattage settings - not bad for £14.99!

Collapsible content

A 1,000 mAh battery

A significant upgrade from the basic Klypse which only has a 700mAh battery, which really shows during daily use; the Pro lasts a lot longer than it's predecessor.

Automatic power setting

Automatic Power Setting - The Klypse reads the resistance of the coil housed within your chosen Klypse pod and automatically adjusts the wattage accordingly, providing the best initial vaping experience without needing to understand ohms and watts.

Variable wattage

While the automatic settings are handy for beginners, more experienced users can also take advantage of the Klypse Pro's variable wattage function to tailor the power output to their preferences. This feature gives the user greater control over their vaping experience than the basic Klypse.

PMOLED screen

Unlike it's predecessor, the Klypse Pro features a digital screen displaying both battery information and current wattage settings, as well as the resistance of your chosen Klypse pod coil when it is first inserted. There is also a puff timer available when using the device.

Puff/Inhale activation

The Klypse pro, much like the basic and Mecha iterations, does not have a power button, instead being inhale activated. This means the device fires on it's own when it detects that you are vaping with it.

Red, Amber & Green LED lighting

As well as the digital screen, the Klypse Pro also indicates battery charge and safety warnings via three coloured lights. Red indicating charge below 10%, amber indicating 10-30% charge and green for anything over 30% charge. The red light will flash for varying amounts of time to indicate warnings like low charge, short circuit, auto-shutoff and overheating protection.

Multiple safety features

The Klypse Pro has a whole host of safety features built-in: low battery alarm, no load/high resistance protection, short circuit protection, auto-shutoff protection and overheat protection. This range of features should give any vaper confidence that despite its low cost, the Klypse Pro has been designed to keep the user safe and satisfied for prolonged use.

My first impressions of the Innokin Klypse Pro

Oliver holding the Innokin Klypse Pro

I had previously used the basic Klypse model when it first launched here on LiQuid, for the price it was a perfectly functional little kit. Despite that, as an experienced vaper it left me wanting a little more - The Klypse Pro is the perfect answer to that desire. The addition of variable wattage and adjustable airflow makes a massive difference!

Right out of the box you can feel the difference in weight vs it's predecessor, thanks to the larger 1000mAh battery. It is still a very light and highly portable vape kit, but the extra weight gives it a sense of improved quality. It feels like a "pro" version of what came before.

Visually the Klypse Pro is near-identical to the basic model, with the addition of the PMOLED screen and airflow slider. It still features the same removable magnetic dust-cap covering the pod, and angular design.

The kit takes seconds to set up thanks to a simple magnetic pod system that allows for quick swaps on the fly, and the battery comes with 75% charge out of the box. All you need to do is pop off the top magnetic cap exposing the pod slot, remove the tab from the pod, fill it with your chosen 50-50 vape juice and load the pod into the battery. Once you've let the wick absorb some of the e-liquid, it's ready to go!

How to use the Innokin Klypse Pro and what it's like to vape with

First Impression and tech-specs aside, let's explore my time using the Klypse Pro vape kit. I put this little kit through its paces in the three weeks I used it and while it isn't the absolute pinnacle of vaping technology, for the money (£14.99) it's a fantastic vape kit.

How do you turn on the Innokin Klypse Pro?

Three swift clicks on the black button located on the side of the device will turn it on, revealing the current wattage settings and battery level. When pressed three times, the Innokin logo also flashes green three times. This is also the case when the device is turned off, which is achieved with three clicks of the black button.

How do you change the power settings on the Innokin Klypse Pro?

The wattage power setting automatically set themselves based on the ohm rating of the coil in the Klypse pod you insert.

If you want to tweak this setting, two quick presses of the black button used to turn the kit on will cause the wattage display to flash. Pressing the button now increases the wattage by increments of 0.5 watts per click.

The available wattage range is 6-25 watts. I don't recommend pushing the Klypse pods too far however, as I found they became prone to dry burn when the power is pushed more than a little over the recommended range of the coils provided in the Klypse Pro box.

How do you adjust the airflow on the Innokin Klypse Pro?

Personally, I like to have a more open airflow when I vape, and the Klypse Pro accommodates this nicely with the addition of an airflow slider located on the face of the device.

All you need to do is manually adjust the slider to find your perfect draw resistance!

How does the Innokin Klypse Pro perform for flavour, vapour and smoothness?

During my time with the Klypse Pro, I mostly stuck to using LiQuid Bar Salts e-liquids, however I should mention that in the interest of testing I found this kit will run any 50-50 vape juice including freebase like our original £1 range perfectly well.

As the kit uses two different sub-ohm coils, it offers an RDTL style vaping experience. This is particularly good for nic salts as it replicates the smoothness and vapour offered by disposable vapes, which despite their drawbacks are popular for delivering excellent flavour.

The Klypse more than achieves this, delivering excellent flavour and vapour throughout the full life cycle of it's pods.

Being able to adjust the wattage and airflow allowed me to tailor my experience very nicely, giving me my perfect inhale resistance and a good boost to flavour and vapour.

While the smoothness of any vape is largely dictated by the nicotine content, the Klypse Pro delivers a rich, flavourful vape that did not irritate my throat at all. Admittedly nic salts are very smooth by design, however when I experimented with freebase nicotine e-liquids I still found it to be a smooth and satisfying experience.

What is the best vape coil for the Innokin Klypse Pro?

The Klypse Pro comes with two Klypse Pods in the box - a 0.6ohm pod and a 0.8ohm pod, both of which I experimented with while using the device.

Honestly, there isn't a huge amount of difference in performance between the two, so personal preference will dictate your own decision. That said, I found the 0.8ohm to be a better option for freebase e-liquid, while the 0.6ohm delivered a perfect RDTL inhale when using nic salts.

Both pods lasted incredibly well despite my heavy vaping habit, with both actually still being serviceable now (thanks to me interchanging the two during my testing). The more frequently used 0.6ohm pod is showing slightly more signs of wear after a good three weeks which is impressive for a cheap vape kit.

Buy Innokin Klypse Pro replacement pods online

The Innokin Klypse makes use of the same pods as both the base model and Mecha. They offer a great lifespan, excellent flavour, good vapour production and are magnetic for quick and easy replacement or refilling.

The Klypse Pro pods are available to buy online for £5.99 for a pack of three pods and you can choose from 0.8ohm or 0.6ohm coil resistance. Each pod is 2ml capacity to adhere to TPD legislation.

What vape juice works best with the Innokin Klypse Pro?

I used a combination of both nic salt and freebase e-liquids while using the Klypse Pro. Specifically Cherry Ice Bar Salts and 6mg menthol freebase.

Both of these worked very well in the device, but the performance with nic salts was a cut above anything else. The open airflow and ability to turn up the wattage slightly gave it a definite edge and allowed me to get the most out of the double-concentrated bar salt flavour.

This worked very well with the Klypse Pro, and the coil hasn't shown any signs of detoriation despite being a sweeter flavour - not to mention I rarely put it down!

The 0.8ohm coil works very well with freebase e-liquids like our original £1 range below. I very much enjoyed using 6mg freebase Menthol in addition to my nic salts, and the Pro performed very well.

If you like double concentrated flavours but want more value for money, and only use a low nicotine strength like 3mg or 6mg, then you can also get select flavours in our Bar Salts range in 100ml shortfills, which come as nicotine free and you can just add freebase or salt nicotine shots to them yourself.

If using the 0.6ohm coil which comes in the box, you can take advantage of the variable wattage and run the device at a higher power to give a true RDTL vape experience which really boosts performance with bar salts.

Ultimately, the benefit with the Klypse Pro is that regardless of your preferred nicotine type (unless you're using HVG vape juice), it will be a fantastic companion for wherever your vaping journey takes you.

How long does it take to charge the Innokin Klypse Pro & how long is the battery life?

The Klypse Pro has an upgraded 1000mAh battery that gives it a massive edge over the base model. It lasts a lot longer even through frequent use and if you are a less avid vaper than I, it could easily support all-day use.

Recharging is one of the only shortcomings of this kit, as unlike some competitors it does not have 2A fast charging. Despite this, the USB-C cable included can get the device from flat to full in just under an hour in my experience, which isn't bad at all in the grand scheme.

The Innokin logo illuminates in three different colours: red, amber and green to indicate low, mid, and good charge respectively.

  •
Innokin Klypse Pro green light
  •
Innokin Klypse Pro amber light
  •
Innokin Klypse Pro red light

I found it best to charge the device through a laptop USB port, however a smart-plug that regulates voltage can also be used to safely recharge the Klypse Pro.

Final thoughts - Is the Innokin Klypse Pro vape kit worth buying?

Considering the price of the Innokin Klypse Pro, you couldn't ask for much more from a pod kit. It delivers significant upgrades vs its predecessor, and even rivals the Mecha - the supposed top-end of the Klypse range in performance, with only battery life falling short by comparison.

The ability to adjust so many settings makes the Klypse Pro a multi-faceted vaping platform that can accommodate many different preferences. This makes it an ideal starter kit, as well as great for those looking for an intermediate vape kit.

If you are currently using the base model Klypse, you can get a significant upgrade to a kit that will last you well into your vaping journey and beyond just for a tenner more. If you're looking to order, scroll below to buy the Innokin Klypse Pro on LiQuid!
