News broke today on January 29th 2024 that disposable vapes are going to be banned from sale in the United Kingdom as part of the government's crackdown on the youth vaping numbers from rising any further.

Why Are Disposable Vapes Being Banned?
Disposable vapes have taken the vaping world by storm over the last couple of years with the popularity of these vape devices reaching levels never seen before.
Since 2020, the number of adults using Disposables as their preferred device of choice has more than doubled from 15% to 31% according to surveys conducted by Action on Smoking and Health.
But unfortunately, it’s not just adults getting hold of these devices and using them regularly.
In a separate survey conducted by ASH, the number of underage users aged between 11-17-years-old that use Disposable Vapes has increased SEVEN-FOLD over the course of a 3-year period, with 69% of those surveyed admitting they use a Disposable Vape like Elf Bars as their preferred device.
This is the main driving point for the Government to want to intervene and initiate a ban on the supply and sale of these devices as they shouldn’t be getting into the hands of 11-17-year-olds and used the amount that they are.
As well as this, Disposable Vapes are causing massive amounts of harm to the environment due to their lack of sustainability.
Despite being made from plastic, they are not able to be recycled due to the fact they contain a small lithium-ion battery. Meaning when they are finished with, they must go into general waste that is then taken to landfill.
It’s estimated that over 1 MILLION units a week are being dumped in landfills across the country and they are littering the streets as well where people are simply discarding them on the floor when they’re finished with rather than in a bin.
And it's the above factors which have played a pivotal role in making the government's decision an easy one to ban disposable vapes from sale in the United Kingdom.
It's currently unknown when the disposable vape ban will come into effect, but it's worth getting ahead of the curve and exploring your options on how to continue vaping without using disposable vapes.
