How To Beat The Disposable Vape Ban

In November last year, Rishi Sunak recently announced his government’s intentions to bring in new legislations to the vaping market in a bid to combat the youth vaping problem.

These were later confirmed within the King’s speech during his opening of parliament and the intention is to push these legislations forward after the consultation period has ended.

The standout suggestion of these proposals was the ban on the supply and sale of Disposable Vapes as these are deemed to be the route of the problem for so many underage children vaping in the UK. As well as this, a suggestion of banning vape flavours to make them less appealing to children was also made.

And now in January 2024, after reviewing the response and feedback given during the consultation period, Rishi Sunak confirmed that a disposable vape ban WILL be happening in the UK

As well as this, he also suggested a review on what vape flavours will be permitted for sale will be made as well as consideration for plain packaging for vape juice and vape kits to make them less appealing to the younger generation.

If you’re a Disposable Vape user, you may be concerned for your future with vaping but fear not as we are here to help explain how you can beat the Disposable Vape ban by preparing yourself and finding an alternative for disposables, as well as looking at what options are available should they restrict vape flavours as well.

Why Disposable Vapes Are Getting Banned

Disposable Vapes have seen an incredible surge in popularity over the last few years in the UK. Since around 2020, the amount of people using these convenient and ready to go devices has just increased more and more.

However, it’s not just adult vapers who have decided to pick these devices up. Surveys and reports have shown that an alarming number of children are now using Disposables on a frequent basis, despite not being old enough to legally purchase them.

Action on Smoking and Health conduct yearly surveys which look at the behaviours towards vaping of groups of 11-17-year-olds. These surveys have shown the rapid growth in usage and popularity of Disposable Vapes amongst the age demographic.

When asked in a 2020 survey, just 7% of 11–17-year-olds admitted that they use a Disposable Vape as their device of choice. Fast forward to 2022, and this number had increased more than 7 TIMES to 52%.

2023’s survey results have seen yet another leap up with a staggering 69% of children saying that a Disposable Vape was the device they used the most.

These statistics are a driving force behind why the proposal of banning Disposable Vapes has been made, so that they remain out of the hands of underage users and youth vaping numbers would hopefully decrease.

However, it is not just youth vaping being the reason for wanting to ban Disposables as they also have an enormous negative impact on our environment as well which we explain below.

Disposable Vapes are causing a huge issue to the environment due to the fact that they are not recyclable despite being made from plastic.

The reason being that due to the fact they contain a lithium-ion battery inside every device, and these can cause combustion and fire risk if put under pressure or compression at a recycling centre.

This means that millions of used Disposables are being dumped into landfill in the UK every single month, and this number continues to rise in unison with how many people are using Disposables in the UK currently.

How To Beat the Disposable Vape Ban

If you’re a Disposable Vape user currently and are concerned about your vaping future with this impending disposable vape ban happening, you might be worrying what you can do to continue vaping.

You’re in luck! As there’s quite a lot of different options available to you and we have all of them available to buy right here on LiQuid.

Bar Salts & Other 10ml Disposable Vape Flavours

One of the biggest reasons why people use Disposable Vapes is because of the rich and succulent flavours of the vape juice that is housed those bright colourful devices. But how can you enjoy the flavours if Disposable Vapes are going to get banned?

Here at LiQuid, we have created a fantastic range of nicotine salt vape juices inspired by the popular flavours seen in Disposable Vapes.

Bar Salts are a range of premium nic salts made here in the UK in our state-of-the-art facilities using the highest quality raw materials to make delicious tasting vape juices just like the Disposable Vape flavours you may have been accustomed to.

Buying our 10ml Bar Salts will also save you a considerable amount of money compared to what you’d been spending on Disposable Vapes. For less than half the price of an Elf Bar or a Lost Mary Disposable, you’ll get 10ml of disposable vape flavour.

This is five times the amount of vape juice to what you’d get in a standard Disposable making it a much more cost-effective way to vape for sure, and arguably the best way to get round the potential Disposable Vape ban!

We also have a selection of other great brands of 10ml nic salt vape juices that replicate popular flavours of Disposable Vapes.

ElfLiq is a range made by the creators of Elf Bar, meaning you can get the exact flavours of Elf Bar in 10ml form. And enjoy the rich flavours of Lost Mary Disposables with MaryLiq 10ml Nic Salts!

We also have recently added some new brands to our already impressive catalogue which are worth checking out! IVG6000 offers the same great flavours seen in IVG Disposable Vapes and Elux Legend Series delivers the same delicious nicotine salt vape juices in 10ml bottles!

And the best thing about these ranges? Each 10ml bottle costs less than the price of a Disposable Vape!

Refillable Vape Devices

If you’re wanting to buy the 10ml flavours listed above, then of course, you’re going to need a device to be able to use them!

We have a great selection of refillable vape devices on offer here at LiQuid that can give a true authentic Disposable like vaping experience.

Using a refillable pod vape is absolutely ideal, as this will have a lower power output as well as high resistance ohm coils to give a tight mouth to lung draw and only produce a small and modest vapour cloud, much like a disposable.

Aspire R1 Device

The Aspire R1 offers a real Disposable like vaping experience but the best thing about this device is that it is rechargeable unlike what standard Disposables are. Estimated to give over 5000 puffs before the battery runs out, this device is a great alternative for Disposable Vapes.

Oxva Artio Vape Pen

Another device which offers a simplistic approach to vaping is the OXVA Artio vape pen. This device is slim and discreet in design, and is very user friendly. Simply fill the tank part of the device with your vape juice, and it's as easy as that!

This device has a similar battery to what is used in a disposable vape, so this device will give a disposable like vaping experience, but you'll be able to refill and recharge this unlike you can with a disposable vape.

Why Vape Flavours May Be Restricted

Another action which Rishi Sunak mentioned within his government's plans was to restrict the vape flavours that are available on the market to act as a deterrent so that young people would not be tempted in by the delicious sounding flavours that are on offer.

Studies showed that Fruit flavoured vape juice was the most popular amongst 11-17-year-olds, followed by dessert flavours and drink flavours also. The government deemed that flavours are an important factor in driving young people to vaping and want to put a stop to it.

The suggestion was to restrict the options available and only leave simple flavours such as tobacco or mint and menthol as choices for vapers. Whilst this could act as a piece to the puzzle of curbing youth vaping, it may pose problems to adult vapers who rely on flavours.

However, if a vape flavour ban did come into effect, there are a few different options available here at LiQuid which can help you overcome it!

How To Beat the Vape Flavour Ban

Tobacco and Mint/Menthol vape juices will be the only flavours permitted to be sold should the suggested restrictions come into force and we have some fantastic flavours available here at LiQuid.

Bar Salts Menthol is a deliciously refreshing menthol flavour with a sweet undertone to it which sets it aside from the standard run of the mill menthol flavours that are on the market.

Or if you’re looking for a more exotic menthol flavour, try our amazing Menthol Mojito flavour, which is a combination of mint and menthol flavours with a hint of lime to really give your tastebuds a treat.

We also recommend Menthol by MaryLiq or Menthol by Elux Legends if you’re wanting to enjoy the rich Menthol flavours as seen in the popular Disposable Vapes.

If you’re wanting a good tasting Tobacco vape juice, then you’ll be spoilt for choice with what we have on offer!

Spanning across standard Freebase Nicotine range as well as our Nic Salt range, we have an array of different tobacco flavours to suit your individual preference.

And be sure to check out the incredible Tobacco Nic Salt vape juices in our guest brand range, we recommend the Cream Tobacco from Bar Juice for the ultimate tobacco flavour experience!
